My first love was the theater. And my greatest professional thrill was acting on the same stage as Sarah Bernhardt—though not in the same century. I’ve had small parts in a few movies and TV shows, including the hit programs HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS and DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH.

Writing is rather similar to acting, I believe. Except I get to play ALL the characters…while wearing my PJs and sipping tea. What could be better?

I’m married to my first love—a wonderful guy. So I don’t just write romance, I live it!

Author Bio:
Barbara UnderwoodBarbara was born and raised in Sydney, Australia; the only child of German migrants who provided a rich and diverse childhood environment. Already in third grade she wrote a short children's book for a class project and realized that she was deeply satisfied with creating stories. In sixth grade, for another class project, her teacher was so impressed by the lengthy story she submitted, that he commented at the end "I see we are going to have another author".

Over the years, Barbara kept writing one thing or another, but only as a hobby while she pursued other interests and goals. In the 1990s, she completed a correspondence course in professional writing, doing it in her spare time after work. This led to having a few short stories published, but what she really wanted to do was write a proper novel.

At this time, Barbara had travelled extensively and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in subjects that held special appeal for her, namely ancient history, myths and legends (such as Atlantis, the builders of megaliths around the world), folklore (the belief that a god-like race gave mankind its technology), human psychology and the culture of other countries. What better subject for her Fantasy book series than to combine all these elements into one big adventure!

'Finding Home' by Mathew Chase #BookTour #Blast & #Giveaway

finding home tour banner

Finding Home - Front Cover While safety and peace seem like they should be birthrights, some of us are born into situations that simply don't allow for these niceties. With a father who sold drugs and a mother who depended on them, the world felt anything but calm to author Mathew Chase.

Growing up in one of the toughest parts of Philadelphia, Mathew learned things in his first few years of life that most of us never have to learn, like how to survive hunger when there's no food in the house and no one there to notice . . . how not to cry or show fear while being beat with a shoe by a foster parent . . . how to mask any signs of vulnerability when passing the dealers and gangsters on the street . . . or how to fight when one or a bunch of kids jump you on your way home from school.

Somehow, Mathew knew he had a choice. He could conform to the status quo and become a victim of the mentality generated by this environment, or he could find a way to break free and build a different kind of life. Joining the U.S. military at age 18 as an exit route from what he'd known forever seemed like a promising solution, but it carried an exacting price tag of its own.

Mathew's childhood began to seem like it had been easy compared to the brutality of training and fighting in Iraq while witnessing the slaying of friends who had become like brothers. Would Mathew ever find home? Follow the author's journey through seemingly endless challenges and failures to understand how these selfsame circumstances mold him into a mature and courageous man. In Finding Home, pain and heartbreak are transformed to what they truly are - stepping stones to ultimate strength and personal freedom.

#BookReview 'e-Murderer' by Joan C. Curtis

emurderer tour banner

e-Murderer copy

e-Murderer

On this anything but typical Monday morning Jenna Scali, who works part-time for a shrink, opens an email that depicts the brutal death of a young girl. On that same day the police uncover a dead coed two blocks from Jenna’s house. The e-murderer’s description creepily echos the death described in the newspapers.

When Jenna receives other emails, she takes what she knows to the police and thus begins her journey in the path of the e-murderer. Her curious nature impels her from e-messages to dead coeds to a ring of prostitutes. With the help of her quirky friends, Jenna learns that she’s more than a conduit for the killer. She’s his target. New secrets unfold, and finally her love life takes a tumble when the true killer emerges.

THE E-MURDERER is a race to find a psychotic killer before he kills again.

This new mystery series with a young female sleuth promises to keep you glued to your seat until the last page.

**Sue's review**

WOW!!! This is the first book written by Joan C Curtis that I have read and OMG - I hope to be reading more!!!

I loved the way that she started off -- from the descriptions of the main characters - to the weird things that some of them did. Jenna is an awesome main character and it amazed me how much she is like me - lol. I loved all the twist that Joan put into the story - I would think that I had it figured out and then BINGO - she would throw a change in. BUT - I had my suspicions as to who done it - and my initial guess proved to be right in the end. I don't write spoilers - so I will say that I can't tell you who I picked or why. BUT - I will warn you, that once you start reading this (and make it past the first 3 chapters - which give a lot of details about what is going on, etc etc) you will definitely find it hard to put this book down!!! And that is speaking from experience.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

**Sue's Review**

OK - I can honestly say that I was totally captured into reading this book when I saw that Maris loved to sing songs from The Sound of Music and then when the name of the school where she worked was Do-Re-Mi Studios.

This book is a very enjoyable read that totally had be not wanting to stop until I reached the end. I was a little disappointed that it ended - there are just some books that you totally feel should just never end!!!

I think that I fell in love with Maris from the very first page. She appears to be a real type person and I could hear her singing in the park each time she went there. I love Maris's boyfriend, Kyle -- he appears to be such a caring person -- just the type of boyfriend a girl would want to have!!! I don't write spoilers - so I hate to write to much more, for fear that I will be telling you the whole story.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

**Antoinette's Review**

I adored this book. Izzy is a a young woman who has kept to herself and been a loner since forever in a little town. She runs her family antique business that she has inherited from her last living relative, her grandmother. Of course in a small town, business isn't booming but she makes due. One day, in walks a surfer dude. They are no where near the beach which makes this even more strange...her life is never the same after that... She is thrown into ghosts, paranormal investigating, finding herself and healing from a not so perfect past. Finding a natural comfortable love when she least expects it....I will not give the story way but it's just a fun read.... I was given this book for my honest opinion, and now here it is.

#Review of 'Sapphire Beautiful' by Ren Monterrey

sapphire beautiful tour banner

Sapphire BeautifulWe both joined The Club and made an arrangement. I got the money to pay my mortgage and he got access to my body, whenever and however he wanted it...

SAPPHIRE BEAUTIFUL, a new full-length, stand-alone novel in Ren Monterrey's THE CLUB series.

I never imagined that I'd be starting my fifth year as a faculty member in the Medieval Studies department as a thirty-two-year-old widow. I'm sure to be the butt of every joke around campus as the collateral damage of a sex scandal that made national headlines. And my husband left me completely broke after he killed himself.

I don't want to lose my house and all the money I invested in it so I make an arrangement through The Club. I'll get what I need...money to get out of the financial ruins my dead husband left me in. And Dante McNally will get what he wants...access to my body...whenever and however he wants it...

There's only one catch. Dante is one of our new graduate students and the recipient of a prestigious research fellowship funded by his billionaire father. And this is the year I'm supposed to be applying for tenure.

Sue's Review:

OK - this week seems to be a week of reading books by new authors (for me) and OMG OMG OMG Ren Monterrey has got to really be one of my new favorites!!! As I go into this to write the review, I see that this is book 4 of the series -- guess that means that I will definitely take the time to read the first 3 books of the series next!!!

When the story starts and Mary's problems are all explained to the reader, I think that I'm not really sure where the author is heading with this story. But then, you get to see how she is introduced to THE CLUB. When Mary meets Dante, I begin to wonder if this arrangement is going to work and where it might lead. I don't write spoilers - but OMG OMG OMG - I was amazed at where the author took the story and how things unfolded!!! This is definitely one of those - once I start reading, I just can NOT stop until I finish!!!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
